I didn’t have a drive, but I did kill a player, kill his ally who ran in, and drop the body of one of the staffers who they were grouped with (after reloading).

In what was the greatest play of the day (for me), I ran into the plane, waiting on my allies to come. You can definitely leave your allies behind in this too, as I apparently did. Before they could down me, time ran out and I had a “Mission Successful” on my screen. In my final match, I boarded the plane with a squadmate, and an enemy team came in and killed my partner. There are only two planes that show up, and “only one team” can exit on each. Every player team’s goal is to pick up as many Data Drives as possible, then evacuate out. In this mode, there will squads of players, as well as enemy forces that parachute in to try and stop you. This is incredibly important work, but we only have brief moments in time when we can escape with them. Most of the satellites of the world have been destroyed, and we’re out trying to collect the Data Drives from them. Your four-person squad does battle with other four-man squads in this intense tactical battle. Unlike Breakthrough/Conquest, this is completely squad-based and all about tactics. It might be my favorite mode as of this writing – we’ll see how Portal is. Hazard Zone, described succinctly, is “Battle Royale with More Steps” and that’s fine for the line up of Battlefield 2042 game modes. These Battlefield 2042 game modes were fun, but I’m more curious about Hazard Zone and Portal. Thankfully, if you die, you can respawn with your team. We saw a lot of snipers on these stages, particularly from high up on buildings. You need to both capture points and hold them, while also avoiding dying as much as possible. Conquest was intense and a non-stop heated battle. That way you know you’re being hunted and can fight back. Sniper Glint is when you catch the light bouncing off an opposing sniper’s barrel. One thing someone on my squad noticed is that sniper glint was less frequent here. We flew around in helicopters, drove trucks and tanks, and got picked off by snipers. Unfortunately, my faction did not secure victories in Conquest, but we almost always ranked high on our side, capping at Rank #2.

My squad had some great battles and moments across these. You’ll see lots of people on objectives, hopefully. This requires some intense teamwork and everyone doing their part. In order to claim a sector, you need to take all the various points within that sector.
BATTLEFIELD 2042 GAME MODES SERIES
USA) are trying to conquer the entire map, via a series of sectors. Your squad and the whole of your faction (EG: RUS vs. These maps are varied in size, but all feel huge. We also played a few hours of Conquest, across every map available in the game at Early Access. Then things become chaotic, as actual war breaks out between these two factions. It’s still very tactical and still requires a great deal of planning. The enemy, the defender, has unlimited respawns though. You do have a limited number of total, faction respawns, so you have to really take care of your fellow soldier. We won both of the Breakthrough games we played as a squad, pushing back first the Americans, then the Russians. Grenades, snipers, all the bells and whistles. Vehicles flying by, dropping attacks on the field, groups of players desperately saving each other. With fixed servers, we resumed gameplay at the end of the day, to try some Breakthrough. We were the only ones having real problems. However, on Day Two, we came back and played Breakthrough – well, the American press did. Breakthrough is one of the two classic modes we played on day one, and it’s going to be familiar and fun to many. So many tanks rolling together, just obliterating people on foot. This was an intense mode, but one thing I noticed is that there were a lot of vehicles going around. This may have been the servers or some of the settings, but time will tell. This was a map where my squad (and others) suffered a significant amount of lag/stuttering. Once you secure a point, you don’t have to worry about losing it. If you’re attacking, you must completely conquer an area before moving forward, and you need to completely dominate the map before time runs out. Breakthrough is a classic mode for Battlefield 2042 that’s going to feel very familiar. There were some matchmaking issues, but it got sorted out eventually. DICE would give us access again on Day Two, for the press and influencers that missed out and wanted more time. Now, we had some problems playing Breakthrough on Day One but that was the only issue with Battlefield 2042 game modes.
