Secret Weapon: D-5 After Skid-Z came to Earth and went a bit loopy, Prowl tried to intercept him without success during the Europa 400. Sideburn's Obsession The Autobot Brothers were called in to help protect the steam engine " Grandpa" with Prime and Team Bullet Train, though their contribution to the effort was mostly limited to Side Burn chasing off Kelly. Optimus attempted to come to Side Burn's aid and was captured too, leading to Prowl and X-Brawn adopting a disguise and rescuing the pair with the help of some of the Spychangers. Side Burn's sports car fetish proved a liability when he was lured into a trap by Megatron disguised as a red sportsĬar. The Spychangers were called in, and Optimus instructed the brothers to observe the team as it recovered the generator.

When the generator was moved, the brothers provided an escort for the truck, but were unsuccessful in preventing its theft by the Predacons. Bullet Train to the Rescue They helped Prime protect the Plutonium Energy Generator from another Predacon attack, though Prime had to chide Side Burn for his recklessness. Side Burn briefly wondered by he and his brothers couldn't combine like Team Bullet Train, before concluding he wouldn't want to combine with his brothers anyway. They failed to prevent the Predacons from blowing up a bridge ahead of the train, but with Team Bullet Train's help, the Linear RFG was halted before disaster could occur.
Optimus and the three brothers accompanied the Linear RFG on its maiden journey. While Prowl saved the vehicle's driver, Kelly, X-Brawn stole the explosive device that Sky-Byte had obtained and took it to the top of a radio tower so Prime could fire it into space. This eventually paid off when Sky-Byte attacked a red sports car that Side Burn had his eye on.

Battle Protocol! They began patrolling the streets after a series of attacks on vehicles. They kept Slapper, Dark Scream and Gas Skunk busy, but Megatron managed to kidnap Dr. X-Brawn was forced to dump Kelly, and Side Burn was interrupted during a flirting session with a red sports car, but with Prowl's urging, the three of them reached New York. When the Predacons attacked the International Scientific Symposium in New York, Optimus initiated Battle Protocol. The Autobot Brothers were among the first Autobots to establish themselves on Earth to defend it against the Predacons.
